My name is Andy Snip,  I started playing baseball when I was 5 years old and played my baseball career through at Jenison High School.  I started at 2nd base, 3rd base and was also a pitcher my junior and senior seasons.  I’ve been coaching baseball for the last 5 years.  I also coached football for the last 4 years and counting.  I own my own business and I’ve  been married for almost 14 years and have 4 kids.  Coaching has become a big part of my life and I love every minute of it.

Coach Kribs is a proud girl dad who found himself coaching his daughter's softball team out of a love for the game and an even deeper love for her. Then, after 5 years of coaching softball, Coach Kribs added coaching baseball with his son and a group of crazy-fun boys. With collegiate baseball experience under his belt, he brings both a competitive drive and a player's heart to every practice and game. Known for his calmness on the field and steady leadership in the dugout, Coach Kribs focuses on the fundamentals because he knows great players master the basics. He is fiercely loyal to his players, cheering them on and believing in them regardless of the score. At the end of the day, Coach Kribs is a dedicated family man who balances his love for the game with a fulfilling career helping keep our community safe. 

Whether in the dugout or on the field, Coach Kribs is committed to turning effort and heart into unforgettable memories for his team.  

I joined the Lake Effect Family in 2020 as a parent and fan.  I am excited to be apart of the coaching staff again this year.

I played baseball from Little League all the way through the collegiate level and continued with slow pitch softball after that.  I have continued my passion being involved in baseball/softball whether it has been playing, watching or coaching my daughters.

For work, I have a family flooring business out of Holland.  I live in Hudsonville with my wife Mandy and our two daughters, Kinsley and Myla.  In my free time you can find me with my family or running marathons.

I met Jeanette Olinger at pitching clinic at Hopkins High School and through some conversation we had
our daughters were the same age at 8U. We started subbing our 10u daughter in some games with
Jeanette and our family was welcomed with open arms. A dinner date with Ken and Jeanette and the
deal was sealed.

My coaching experience consists of- 2 years as Head Coach 10u Lake effect. I have been the assistant
coach at GR Flames 18u for 4 years under Matt Elkins, 1 year as assistant coach for Hopkins High JV, 2yrs
assistant coach for Hopkins 78ers.

I am a Christian, Husband, Father and friend. I have been married to my loving wife Jessica for 19 years
and we have 4 daughters, Hannah, Morgan, Julia and Lauren.

My inspiration for coaching comes from seeing the progression of each athlete getting better every
day.

Coach DeHorn is entering his second year with Lake Effect Baseball, bringing over a decade of coaching experience across all levels of the game. A former collegiate pitcher at Hope College, Kurt has coached everything from youth rec leagues to serving as the varsity pitching coach for Hamilton High School. He brings a strong focus on player development, fundamentals, and fostering a competitive yet positive team culture.

With over two decades of coaching experience, Amber is passionate about developing athletes both on and off the field/court. She has coached volleyball for 22 years and spent six years coaching travel softball. A former softball player at Jenison High School and collegiate volleyball athlete at Hope College, she currently serves as an assistant volleyball coach at Hope College and is entering her fourth season coaching with Lake Effect Athletics. Outside of coaching, she enjoys supporting her three kids in all of their activities and adventures alongside her supportive husband, Phil.

Jeanette Olinger, and her husband Ken, began Lake Effect Athletics in the spring of 2019 initially as a company providing private softball lessons to youth in the Holland, Michigan community and surrounding areas.  It quickly evolved into the beginning of competitive youth teams by the end of that summer. 

Jeanette has 20+ years of coaching experience at all levels of the game.  A former pitcher/utility player at the University of Utah, she began her coaching career assisting at local clinics while in college and then began holding private pitching lessons.  After college, she started Xtreme Fastpitch Softball in Layton, Utah which consisted of three teams in the organization.  She coached the older of the three teams starting when they were 12U and remained with that core group of athletes through their graduation.  She is currently mentoring two of those original athletes as they have returned to their former high schools to coach themselves.  While in Utah, she also assisted at a local high school for three years prior to relocating to Michigan for her job as a Human Resources and Safety Manager with Ralcorp Holdings (food manufacturing). 

After moving to Michigan, Jeanette was an assistant coach at Grandville High School for one year and then Kenowa Hills High School for one year. She also met her husband, Ken, before she relocated again for her job to the suburbs of Chicago.  After three years in Illinois, she was offered the position as an assistant coach at Hope College for the 2012/2013 season and her family moved back to Holland, Michigan.

Jeanette was an assistant coach at Hope College for nine seasons.  She currently provides private instruction for athletes in the community and is involved with the Hamilton Little League/Coach.  Ken and she are the proud parents of two amazing daughters - Teagan and Rylie - who are beginning their own softball stories as well.

Alongside his wife of 15 years (Jeanette), Ken has helped build Lake Effect Athletics from the ground up.  Ken takes pride in putting sportsmanship and the team-family dynamic first when it comes to athletics, and has tried to creatively build that culture into the Lake Effect brand.

Before graduating from Western Michigan University with a degree in Pre-Med/Biomedical Science, Ken played many sports growing up including basketball, baseball, golf, and football in his hometown of Grand Ledge, MI.  He has coached and trained younger athletes in these sports throughout the years and enjoys seeing the younger generations appreciate sports and what it does to improve one’s character.  In between Lake Effect activities, Ken worked for 15 years at Agilent Technologies where he led the Corporate Accounts sales team within the Genomics & Pathology division but has recently taken on a new adventure at Enzo Life Sciences as the Senior Sales Director - Americas. 

Above all, Jeanette/Rylie/Teagan and family are most important when it comes to Ken’s focus!

Greetings! – from 13U Lake Effect

My coaching experience spans some 40+ years and includes baseball, basketball, football, and golf at various levels. My teaching experience includes middle-school science, graduate level biochemistry, and time as a flight instructor. I enjoy the challenge of finding innovative ways of helping students and athletes master difficult new subjects or skills.

I am in my fifth year with Lake Effect – currently an assistant coach with the 13U group. We try to ensure that being a part of the Lake Effect organization involves a great combination of athletic training, skills acquisition, and character development in a competitive, but fun environment.  At the same time, we also believe in encouraging strong, positive relationships with one’s family, school, church, and community.

I am very proud of what this team has accomplished to date;  thankful for the girls' ever-increasing effort and commitment;  and thankful to the parents and families that support us so strongly throughout the year. We’re expecting great things from this group, on and off the field, this season and beyond!

I am Katie Carlson, head coach for Lake Effect 14U. I am currently a student athlete at Aquinas College playing softball and studying secondary education and mathematics with the intent of becoming a math teacher. I have played softball since I was 5 years old and started travel at age 8. I played 10 years of travel ball and was a four year varsity player at Zeeland East. I was a player for one of the first Lake Effect teams. I also am the assistant varsity coach at Jenison high school. I am excited to be back with the Lake Effect organization and coach for a program that plays with class and sportsmanship.

I am Grace, Lake Effect 14U assistant coach. I was a four year college softball pitcher for Aquinas College, in 2021-2024. During that time, we attended Nationals 2 of the 4 years. In my final year at Aquinas, our team set multiple school records, including tying the most season wins and going to the furthest in school history at Nationals. I was academic All-Team each year and a captain my senior season. 

I grew up in Kalamazoo, MI where my mother and father ran our local little league. The game of softball is in my blood and I love that I can begin giving back to the sport that has been a part of my entire life. I started travel at the age of 10, playing for Kalamazoo Klash, Hurricanes and Elite for one season. I now live in GR and work for Summit Point Roofing in Ada as the Sales and Marketing coordinator.

2022 was my first-year coaching at Lake Effect. I have several years of coaching experience at various levels and have been playing baseball and softball most of my life. I have a true passion for teaching fundamentals and strive to create a softball experience that kids want to come back to. I put 110% into coaching and look forward to sharing my love of competition with new and seasoned athletes.

My day job, I work as a Technical Analyst at Spectrum Health. I live in the Hamilton area with my wife Jessica and daughters Bella, Paisley, Ava, and Penelope (3 of them play softball).

I am excited to be part of the Lafe Effect organization. GO LAKE EFFECT!!!

I am in my third year attending Cornerstone University where I'm working toward my teaching degree in Special Education and math. Also, I play varsity softball and JV women's basketball at CU.

I enjoy playing sports, specifically softball which I have been playing for 13+ years. I have a love for the game but more importantly a love for those who play it to enjoy it and learn life lessons beyond the field.

This is my 3rd year assisting with Coach Adam and Becky, starting my freshman year in 2023. I'm grateful to spend more time with my little sister, Aylah (#3), and to be an encourager to all the players.

It is and has been such a blessing to spend time with these wonderful girls!
